About the Society
The Waikanae Music Society was formed after a public meeting late in 1977 and opened its first season with a concert by the Wellington Baroque Ensemble on 23 April 1978. In December 1978 it was registered as an Incorporated Society.
Now in its 40th year, the society has grown from strength to strength over the years and is highly respected in the New Zealand musical community as one of the country’s most successful societies outside of the main cities. Since its early
